< dave > I think apart from the obvious, I think a music fan is a music fan. The crowds have been great.
< BushFairy@aol.com > What has been your most embarising moment while on tour?
< dave > let me think... < dave > people waiting outside the bus when I've just woken up.
< Beadou@aol.com >How do you feel having won the Award for the best Alternative group on the American Music Awards last night?
< dave > I think its great. Fantastic! We don't do music to win prizes, but if you win the prize, we're very pleased.
< jimmypopsmylover@hotmail.com > What was it like to hear your songs remixed for Deconstructed,
< dave > interesting.
< Jammf@aol.com >Have you or would you ever consider playing a fretless bass? not giving up your lovely Fender of course!
< dave > i have a fretless base at home that I dabble on. I think basses are mainly for the sound. you get a distictive fretless sound.
< breathein@hotmail.com > What direction, musically, do you see your next album going?
< dave > forwards. forwards and up in fact.
< cfralick@oxford.net > During the tour, did you have a favourite venue that you loved to play in?
< dave > I think playing madison square garden... its such a famous place, even being English we've heard about it - its something we'll always remember doing.
< wmsc@frii.com > where do you wish you could play that you never have before?
< dave > let me think... I don't know . any country we haven't played in. < dave > preferably warm ones.
< CldCntagis@aol.com > How does Bush compare to your previous band Transvision Vamp?
< dave > more boys in it. i think its a better band. I learned alot of things in TV, we were a pretty good band, but I think bush is probably a better band. and the music is a bit different, but still a punk effort.
< blowingbubbles@hotmail.com > I hear about Nigel's and Gavin's fave poets, but never yours. Are you into poetry?
< dave > no.
< blowingbubbles@hotmail.com > what's your favorite new band/singer right now?
< dave > findly quaye (sp?) he's a singer, like tricky.
< SiannanAsh@aol.com > Dave, which do you find more enjoyable: recording a new CD or performing it live?
< dave > They are totally opposite extremes. They can be equally satisfying and equally hard work.
< question > now that gavin is writing more material, what are you doing now?
< dave > we've all gone off to our own corners and preparing ourselves for the new album. I'm going to go to Paris. < dave > we give each other a bit of space.
< zen >whats the "e"-sticker on your base represent/stand for?
< dave > its for the band 'enormous' they're a great band. great bass player.
< will000@aol.com > do you still have a girlfriend?
< dave > I have one & one is enough.
< Jammf@aol.com >What do you like to do to relax besides music?
< dave > i like to read, and watch movies. and football (soccer in the states)
< Beadou@aol.com >Do you ever get tired of playing the same songs over and over again?
< dave > you can, but its important to change the set and keep it fresh and interesting. and to be honest sometimes, yes.
< BSHrulz77@aol.com >??? [ I guess this question had something to do with being interviewed ]
< dave > i don't mind, its ok. its interesting. its nice to know people still want to speak with us. and i haven't done one in a couple months
< GaV16sT0nE@aol.com >I love Deconstructed! I was wondering if you're planning on working with any other artists in the future.
< dave > we are not "planning" I wouldn't say plan. But we're always open... we would never say no.
< cybersparkle@juno.com > When are all of you going to be seeing each other again now that the band isn't on tour anymore?
< dave > oh, I don't know. Probably March. a couple months, but I'm sure I'll see them before then for the rehersals.
< serb@rumms.uni-mannheim.de > What`s the name of the cd which is in your cd-player right now?
< dave > its propeller heads. a remix of the james bond theme.
< archane_smile@hotmail.com >I read somewhere that Gavin said he was worried how fans would take "deconstructed". what can you say about that?
< dave > its difficult, because we don't actually do it ourselves, so its not our music as such. i just think its an interesting project. alot of it is very good, but some of it I don't understand. The main concern is people buy it for what it is, a remix album. Not as the next bush album.
< HeyRach@hotmail.com > What are some significant changes you have seen in your field during the time you have worked in this career?
< dave > I think that every different type of music you listen to you pick up something. Hopefully you're going forwards. You have a larger library of music and influences and feelings in your head.
< Screamin_daisi@hotmail.com > Dave, were you really a fire eater before Bush??
< dave > no, but I wanted to be a fireman.
< dave > maybe if we go to the grammys that would be the next time we see each other.
< BuemxRex@aol.com > What was the highlight of the Razorblade Suitcase tour?
< dave > playing for so many people.
< betheli@webtv.com > who have you met that you were really excited about?
< dave > ruud gullit. he's a football (soccer) manager and former player.
< big_star_nigel@hotmail.com > I see in the Swallowed video Robin was playing Bass, was that his idea? Your idea? Just happened?
< dave > when you make a video, it can be a long, long, day. and if it weren't for a few funny momements it would be a boring day.
< bcadam1@vm.sc.edu > Has there ever been talk of a Unplugged concert?
< dave > if we did one, I'd like it to be outside.
< blowingbubbles@hotmail.com > Was there a band or singer that really inspired you to get into music?
< dave > I think the Clash. They were the first songs I could actually play.
< bushgrl421@aol.com > Hi Dave, just wondering who was your favorite band that you guys toured with?
< dave > it wouldn't be fair to pick one out. from the toadies, veruca salt - i think our real favorite was jesus lizard, enormous.
< Christina > If you were a bassist in Trans Vamp, but were originally a guitarist, wouldn't you prefer to be able to play guitar again? Do you still play? Or have you switched to bass permanently?
< dave > no, i was always a bass player. < dave > I learned to play bad electric guitar.
< noduuh@aol.com > do you ever wonder what you would be doing now if you weren't in Bush?
< dave > no, I try not to.
< tilleyd@zoomnet.net > I was just wondering what you do on tour.
< dave > read, watch videos, listen to music, do interviews, play gigs, get drunk, sleep on the bus, phone home.
< BushGod16@aol.com > What is the most frightening fan experience you have had?
< dave > i think when people dive off the stage. i think its very scary. when you see the faces of people they are about to land on.
< BSHrulz77@aol.com > How did you meet Sarah ?
< dave > in my local pub. it was her local pub too.
[ Seth!winberg@dialin731.toronto.globalserve.net ] will you play more complex bass parts on the new cd?
< dave > I don't know. complexity is only good if it makes the song sound better.
thats all for dave.
he says thanks & bye.
