MODERATOR> Bush will be appearing tomorrow on the Howard Stern Show? Make sure you listen!

MODERATOR> Hello and welcome to tonight's chat with Bush! Hello Guys.

Bush Chick> First off, I want you guys to know your music is my world, and I love it. When are you going on tour in the states for The Science of Things?

SPEAKER_Bush> We're going to tour in March.

SPEAKER_Bush> April, May and June.

BrandyLovesGavin> How did you come up with the idea for your newest video?

SPEAKER_Bush> Just a lot of late night thinking and a lot of early morning drinking.

SinewyBecca> Gavin, do you write the lyrics, and then add the tune, or make the tune, and then add the lyrics? (what do you do mainly, anyway)

SPEAKER_Bush> It's always different.

ThomasB> With Deconstructed, Bush moved more away from its grunge roots toward an electronic sound. Would you say that The Science of Things is more of a rock album, like Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase, or something similar to Deconstructed or other remixes?

SPEAKER_Bush> I think it's still more of a guitar/rock album. I don't think we'll ever be an electronic band. Deconstruced was remixed by remixers, but when you have four people playing four instruments, it's always going to sound like us.

Priscilla> Could you guys tell us a funny situation that happened while you were on stage?

PhilBUD> Is it true that Gavin worked with Bono of U2 last year on some songs?????

SPEAKER_Bush> No, no.

StereoWaltz> Okay, I've heated arguments with my friends about this. The song Warm Machine.... what does it refer to? I say it's about computers and science. My friend says it's about touring and someone else says it's about being out all night on the town. Are any of us right?

SPEAKER_Bush> It's just a love song. I think Warm Machine is a person.

Stacy> I have never heard music like yours and can't wait to get the new album, first thing tomorrow. What should fans expect? Anything really different? What's the inspiration for it ?

MODERATOR> Send your questions now to Bush by typing in your question and clicking "Ask Bush"

SPEAKER_Bush> You should expect an innovative blend of electronica and rock.

Kenny> I saw you at Woostock99, how did you feel about the happenings that occured there?

SPEAKER_Bush> I thought we had a great show, and it's a shame because woodstock will be remembered for all the violence and all the sexual abuse that went on. I think it's appalling. I think people need to take a long look at themselves and what happened.

bushfreakker> How did you come up with the artwork for the new album?

SPEAKER_Bush> It's a very long process. Trial and error.

SPEAKER_Bush> We looked at lots of different places - ideas came from all over.

Bu21sh3> what is your next single

SPEAKER_Bush> Jesus Online. We hope it's going to come out on New Year's Eve.

brideb> Are these lyrics a reflection of your personal thoughts, as in previous albums?

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes, yes they are. I look around and see what's going on in the world, and just weigh how that impacts me as a person.

Priscilla> Nigel, I heard that you were a novelist some years ago... Do u still write stuff in your spare time?

SPEAKER_Bush> I don't really have any spare time, unfortunately - or probably fortunately, since it wasn't that great.

Nate> Dave what kind of bass were you playing at woodstock?

SPEAKER_Bush> An electric one. *laugh* A green one.

SPEAKER_Bush> One too many.

StereoWaltz> who would you like to take on tour with you guys when you come to the states?

SPEAKER_Bush> Our girlfriends.

SPEAKER_Bush> Jimi Hendrix. The Spice Girls - especially the one with the big hair. NSync.

Ditzy78> Do you prefer hitting big venues, of smaller more intimate settings? (this is coming from a small town girl!)

SPEAKER_Bush> I like big, intimate ones.

SPEAKER_Bush> In small towns.

FLEMGIRL> What does music represent to you?

SPEAKER_Bush> Lifeblood...it's what makes the world go round, it's what makes you happy and sad.

sisbro7> GAVIN I HEARD THAT GWEN SANG A FEW SONGS ON THE NEW ALBUM IS THAT TRUE?

SPEAKER_Bush> She sang some vocals.

marykate> I have a Bush shirt that says 'goose.' on the back of it. Seriously, why is that there?

SPEAKER_Bush> He couldn't spell chicken.

Bush Girl> Do you guys plan on touring in Europe or America first?

SPEAKER_Bush> Probably Europe, in January.

SPEAKER_Bush> Two weeks of radio shows in the beginning of December, in America.

Bush Girl> Gavin, Why does the number 14 come up alot in your work?

SPEAKER_Bush> Because 13 was taken.

Aleixa> How did you get the concept for your latest video

SynapseErin> What has the effects of social and political standpoints you are taking more recently (liveaid, no boundries) have affeceted your music in anyway, or changed you guys? Thanks. Love erin

MODERATOR> Tune in now to a SPECIAL RADIO WOODSTOCK BROADCAST playing ALL BUSH MUSIC!!! Click here: http://media.twec.com:8080/ramgen/encoder/woodstock.rm

SPEAKER_Bush> Things that go on around us form our opinions, so obviously everything that goes on in the world affects us.

MODERATOR> If that link is not working try http://www.radiowoodstock.com/live.ram

SPEAKER_Bush> I think if you ignore politics and things around you, you can't blame anyone for the things that go wrong.

gavingirl_26> GAVIN, WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION IN LIFE?

SPEAKER_Bush> Winston.

Bush Warm> Does The Chemicals Between Us have any referance to the dropping of the atomic bombs during WW2 ?

SPEAKER_Bush> No.

zenkitty> Do any of you ever check out the websites, and mailing lists and such that people have about you guys? Have you ever been to Winston's Doghouse? (my site) Does it sometimes scare you how much personal information people know about you?

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes - I check the sites out fairly regularly.

SPEAKER_Bush> But I don't think I've been to Winston's Doghouse yet.

malinda> NIGEL, HOW DID YOU MEET THE OTHERMEMBERS OF BUSH?

SPEAKER_Bush> The brothel.

SPEAKER_Bush> I tried to shag Dave.

SPEAKER_Bush> But I shagged Robin by mistake.

Veronique> Just want to say that you are my absolute favorite band, your talent totally blows my mind I saw you in concert in Houston on the Razorblade tour it was one of the coolest experiences in my life(was in the pit). Definetly my all-time favorite band by FAR. Anyway I was wondering where do you come up with the ideas and where do you get your inspiration to write so many songs that are so original, and still keep them from being repetitive like what happens to many modern bands.

SPEAKER_Bush> Thank you.

SPEAKER_Bush> Just from all-around life experiences, really.

Bu21sh3> where do you guys spend most of your time when you arn't on tour, where do you call home

SPEAKER_Bush> London.

SPEAKER_Bush> London, England.

gavingirl_26> Any B-Sides to be released soon?

MODERATOR> Don't want to order the album online? Make sure you print out a coupon, take it into your nearest Record Town, Coconuts, Strawberries, Camelot, The Wall, Spec's, Planet Music, or FYE stores. Click Here: http://www.twec.com/TW/OnStage/Bush/coupon.asp?Mode=4

SPEAKER_Bush> Well, yeah...always. When we release a single we put a b-side on it. We haven't released a single yet in the US but when we do, there will be a b-side on it. We have tracks ready. Some of the tracks may go to the fan club as a special treat.

BushChick1030> hey guys, what time can i catch u all on howard stern tomorrow? ive been looking everywhere and i cant seem to find the answer! love ya, alexis

SPEAKER_Bush> Early, early. 8:30, east coast. FlamingMonkey> Does the new album have any of those funky hidden tracks?

SPEAKER_Bush> Why don't you wait and see? Buy it!

SPEAKER_Bush> Listen to it for three hours until you find it. You have to buy five copies- there's one every five.

PhilBUD> Any soundtrack projects in the works???

MODERATOR> Tune in now to a SPECIAL RADIO WOODSTOCK BROADCAST playing ALL BUSH MUSIC!!! Click here: http://media.twec.com:8080/ramgen/encoder/woodstock.rm

SPEAKER_Bush> There are a few...but we need a film to fit in. When we make a good film, we'll make a good soundtrack.

MODERATOR> If that link does not work please try http://www.radiowoodstock.com/live.ram

Aleixa> What was most difficult about writing this album??

SPEAKER_Bush> Writing the songs.

SPEAKER_Bush> The words and music.

Matt> I got the album on Friday. Should i turn myself into the cops?

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes. And then go buy another copy.

SPEAKER_Bush> Where did you get it from?

glycerine> DO YOUR FAMILIES EVER COME TO YOUR CONCERTS? LOVE VANNA

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes, yes they do. All the time.

placebogyrl> Gavin, what did you mean when you said you were a blackman/ whiteman/ american/ englishman during your performance at Woodstock?

SPEAKER_Bush> It was a man for every man - no prejudices. No race divides, you know?

ThomasB> After netAid, is Bush going to be apart of any big charity/aid type concerts?

SPEAKER_Bush> Possibly. It depends on the cause. I hope we get people more aware of the AIDS problem - it seems to have disappeared lately. We would like to save lives by making people aware that it's still out there and as bad as ever, even if it's not getting as much attention as it was.

SPEAKER_Bush> There are charities listed on the back of the album too - which you need to buy to see.

bonedriven> Since the science of things is coming out tomarrow, do you guys have any songs for a 5th cd?

SPEAKER_Bush> We've got a lot of songs that we didn't make for the Science of Things that didn't just fit in. comedown> What is the song swallowed about? I've heard so many references to what it's about I'm about to explode.

SPEAKER_Bush> That's what it's about - exploding.

shashica23> Gavin, is it true you may be doing a solo album in the future??

SPEAKER_Bush> You interpret it how you want.

SPEAKER_Bush> In time, maybe. I haven't made my mind up yet.

Stacy> Gavin-How did you get involved in shooting a commercial for the Artists Against Racism awareness?

SPEAKER_Bush> Well, I've been involved with it for about four years now.

Miss DKNY> How do you decide what to put on an album if you have ones that don't make it in??

SPEAKER_Bush> It becomes obvious after a while that some songs work and some songs don't. It becomes obvious.

Bush Rules> Are you guys ever going to do an MTV FANatic episode? Because, I'd love to meet you guys!

SPEAKER_Bush> Probably not.

RockStarlette> ROBIN, who are you're inspirations?

SPEAKER_Bush> Nigel.

SPEAKER_Bush> And Stevie Wonder.

Fifi n BUSH> Dave- How does it feel to be teh "mellow baseplayer"?

SPEAKER_Bush> We've already done them all.

Esdemo> Nigel--How do you come up with your awesome solos? Do they just come to you or do you think over them and plan them a lot?

SPEAKER_Bush> No, they usually are off the cuff. I just play the first thing that comes into my head.

Miguelian> Any word on when Bushnet will be back up and will you guys be involved in it?

SPEAKER_Bush> Probably tomorrow.

semicircle> I was wondering if BUSH has done any Behind the music on VH1?

SPEAKER_Bush> We did one - it will probably air in January or February.

bushluvr> Gavin, what inspired you to write a song like Letting The Cables Sleep which, to me, is very different from any Bush song I've every heard

SPEAKER_Bush> How have you heard it?!

SPEAKER_Bush> It's all about communication and the way that people are taught.

bushfiend> When will your hard rock live performance air?

SPEAKER_Bush> March. February or March.

Bushgirl> what was your most memorable concert and why?

SPEAKER_Bush> In front of 30,000 people when my whole family was there...Dave cried.

Pixie_Princess> Glycerine is my favorite somg of yours and I was wondering where you were when you wrote it, or when. It's beautiful

SPEAKER_Bush> I was in my basement flat in London.

guitarpik> Gavin, what made you decide to cut your hair?

SPEAKER_Bush> Every now and again you get a hair cut.

BushGoddess> Have you talked to Courtney Love lately...is BUSH going on tour with HOLE??? we think it is an AMAZING idea!! love cobi and linzy

SPEAKER_Bush> Maybe someday we'll go on tour with Hole.

StereoWaltz> why do you always choose to release your albums around november? any siginificance behind that?

SPEAKER_Bush> It has to do with Halloween - spooky time of year.

GlycerineT> Bush=brilliant. How did playing in Times Square on New Years come about?

SPEAKER_Bush> We got talked into by our record company to do it.

MODERATOR> Tune in now to a SPECIAL RADIO WOODSTOCK BROADCAST playing ALL BUSH MUSIC!!! Click here: http://media.twec.com:8080/ramgen/encoder/woodstock.rm

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes! And on all the albums.

glycerine16stone> What would you guys do if you had a day off to do anything you wanted?

SPEAKER_Bush> Go home.

16_Stoned> Do you think that Rock music is suffering through a major slump right now?

SPEAKER_Bush> No. Rock music always goes through peaks and slumps.

SPEAKER_Bush> It's like the hump on a camel.

guitarpik> Gavin, i saw a piece of memorobilia in Las Vegas at a store...its a piece of notebook paper with the entire lyrics of Swallowed...is this really yours? Could you validate it before i buy it?

SPEAKER_Bush> I don't think so.

SPEAKER_Bush> I don't know.

BeautifulRain> What's in your cd player right now?

SPEAKER_Bush> Drum and bass, asian pop albums.

beautiful_rain> Nigel--is it hard for you to have to leave your daughter so soon to tour?

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes - it's excruciating.

SPEAKER_Bush> Leaving her is the worst thing that ever happened to me - having her is the best thing that ever happened to me.

SPEAKER_Bush> It's tough.

Synapse_Bush> What is the next TV appearance you guys will do?

SPEAKER_Bush> Live TV...Total Request Live.

Dustin> How do you feel you guys have grown as a band musically?

SPEAKER_Bush> Musically...I guess we're bigger and better.

GavinisHOTT> When you say everything is "Zen", what does that refer to?

SPEAKER_Bush> It's ironic.

devon> to settle a debate over the meaning of "comedown"...is it really a deep, veiled, emotional song, or just a slightly-veiled sex, drugs, and communication breakdown song?

SPEAKER_Bush> Comedown works on many different levels. So it's both.

Aleixa> What is the one thing that keeps you guys "grounded" when your success is so vast?

SPEAKER_Bush> Together.

Bush Warm> Gavin, have you ever been reluctant to explain the songs? Would you rather have people formulate their own opinions?

SPEAKER_Bush> I don't know. *laugh*

SPEAKER_Bush> That's a good question.

SPEAKER_Bush> We ignore it.

SPEAKER_Bush> Yes.

SPEAKER_Bush> Nigel has a wife.

GavBushGirl> If you catch your songs on the radio, do u change it, or say "ohhhhh man, this sounds good"

SPEAKER_Bush> "Sounds good."

16_Stoned> Do any modern musicians inspire you?

SPEAKER_Bush> G3 - he's good.

SPEAKER_Bush> There are some.
